Social networking is a method to link communities of people together in some fashion, usually by software. The software, though varies from network to network usually gives users the ability to share and upload photos, videos and bookmarks, blog, message friends, link with or make new friends.

Members can create profiles with picture galleries, send private messages, and take part in discussion boards and online chat. There are also organized offline events, such as coffee or cocktail outings, sporting events, and day trips.
