Social networking is a method to link communities of people together in some fashion, usually by software. The software, though varies from network to network usually gives users the ability to share and upload photos, videos and bookmarks, blog, message friends, link with or make new friends.

Frappr is a social networking site that uses Google Maps. Users can link communities, restaurants, etc. It was purchased in October of 2007 by Platial.
