Social networking is a method to link communities of people together in some fashion, usually by software. The software, though varies from network to network usually gives users the ability to share and upload photos, videos and bookmarks, blog, message friends, link with or make new friends.

A small, closed community for people "who already have strong connections with one another." Members can share information on popular clubs, restaurants, and personal activities. It remains an exclusive network by only allowing membership through invitation by current members. Anyone found to have membership without being connected to other members is moved to another network.
